Vhale Phinisi
Three days from quay to quay, written out hour by hour
Updated 4 November 2026
A Komodo 3 days 2 nights all inclusive boat trip on Vhale runs the route from an 11:00 start to a noon return: Kelor, Rinca and Kalong, then Padar, Pink Beach and two snorkel stops, then Siaba or Sebayur. The whole boat is IDR 148,000,000 (≈ USD 9,080), or IDR 6,170,000 (≈ USD 379) a head at twenty-four.
First day: Kelor's climb, Rinca's trails, Kalong's bats
Day one begins with a car at your hotel or the airport ahead of the 11:00 start, lunch on board while Labuan Bajo shrinks behind you, and then an afternoon spent in the order the route lists it: Kelor first, with the short climb that gives the legs their first work, then Rinca and a ranger-led walk among dragons that are wild and never guaranteed, and finally Kalong at sunset, when the bats leave their island for the night.
Dinner is on board, and Vhale lies at anchor overnight wherever the captain reads the weather kindest, which is why no itinerary names the bay. That evening the table fills with people who have walked just far enough to deserve it.

These stops swap order with tide and wind: Manta Point ⇄ Taka Makassar.
Times are operating patterns, not a timetable. Pickup is the only promise we make by the clock.
Second day: Padar's ridge, a beach, then two snorkel stops
Padar comes at sunrise, before breakfast, the walk up done in the first light; in July the sun clears it at 06:18, and the clock shifts with the calendar. Breakfast follows on board, then Pink Beach for the beach time the route allows.
The afternoon of that second day holds only stops. Lunch comes after the beach, slowly, at the outdoor table, with the second coffee arriving before anyone has asked for it; then the boat moves on to Taka Makassar for a snorkel over the sandbar's edge, and to Manta Point for another, where the mantas are named in the stop and never promised. Dinner on board again, and the second night at anchor.
Final morning: Siaba or Sebayur in the water, then the quay by noon
The last morning is the unhurried one. Breakfast is on board, and then the boat goes to Siaba or Sebayur for a final snorkel before sailing back to Labuan Bajo. The route ends at the quay around 12:00, and the hotel or airport drop-off follows.
Which of the pair you visit is left to the sea that morning. Both are snorkel stops a short sail from the harbour, so the choice costs the schedule nothing. By noon the long table has become a row of drying towels.
The three-day fare, written out
The three-day, two-night fare for the whole boat is IDR 148,000,000 (≈ USD 9,080). It is one sum for the party, the same for one guest as for 28, with no extra-guest fee. At twenty-four guests it comes to IDR 6,170,000 (≈ USD 379) a head, and at twenty and twenty-eight to IDR 7,400,000 (≈ USD 454) and IDR 5,290,000 (≈ USD 325).
The ledger reads in its usual order. Carried by the fare: the car both ways, the meals on board, snacks, water, tea, coffee, milk and juice, the snorkel gear and Vhale's crew of 9. Outside it: the park package, flights, hotels, alcoholic drinks and tips, and, because a charter is yours alone, the guide and the photographer, which we price separately if you want them. A card link adds 3 percent.
| Guests | per boat | per person |
|---|---|---|
| 1–28 | IDR 148,000,000 (≈ USD 9,080) | IDR 5,290,000 |
The alternative: a single cabin seat on the scheduled trip
The same three days are sold by the cabin on every Monday and Friday, for anyone who would rather share the boat than hire it. A seat starts at IDR 4,450,000 (≈ USD 273) for a Coral sharing berth, and it carries the guide and the group's photographs and film that a private charter leaves on request.
It is the same route and the same table, only with other guests at it. We check your cabin with the boat on WhatsApp, in real time, before any money moves, and the calendar page carries the dates ahead with the day they were read. For fewer than twenty, the seat is the kinder sum.
| Cabins | Deck | per person |
|---|---|---|
| Atlantic | Upper deck | IDR 8,950,000 (≈ USD 549) |
| Azure | Upper deck | IDR 5,200,000 (≈ USD 319) |
| Oceanic | Main deck | IDR 7,450,000 (≈ USD 457) |
| Pacific | Main deck | IDR 6,200,000 (≈ USD 380) |
| Coral Private Room | Lower deck | IDR 5,700,000 (≈ USD 350) |
| Coral Sharing Room | Lower deck | IDR 4,450,000 (≈ USD 273) |

Working your flight home backwards from the quay
Plan the flight home backwards from the quay, not forwards from the booking page: the boat is in around 12:00 on day three, the drop-off takes its share of the early afternoon, and a seat on a plane leaving after 14:00 is the one we would buy. The pickup on day one is before the 11:00 start, and we confirm the time in writing, with the driver's contact following the day before.
The boat leaves Labuan Bajo and comes back to it, with no leg to Lombok. For the way in, the kindest advice is the oldest: sleep in town the night before you board, and a late plane costs you a dinner rather than Kelor. The earliest flight on boarding day is a wager against the airline, and the sea does not wait for the loser.
FAQ
How long should I give this route?
Three days is the full route, with Padar at sunrise and two snorkel stops on day two. Two days compresses it, and one day is a sample. If you want a slower fourth morning, the four-day fare adds one.
Does the boat return to where it started, or end in Lombok?
She comes back to the harbour she left from, and there is no Lombok leg. Travelling on to Lombok means a flight from Labuan Bajo once the trip is over.
When is the three-day trip back at the quay, and what flight is safe?
The trip starts at 11:00 and ends around 12:00 on day three at the quay. The drop-off follows, so book a flight home after 14:00. We confirm the exact times in writing, and you will have the driver's contact the day before.
Where is the pickup, at what time, and when will I have the driver's contact?
You are collected at your hotel or at the airport in Labuan Bajo ahead of the 11:00 start. The exact time comes to you in writing once the date is held, and the driver's contact follows the day before sailing.
