Twenty friends, twelve doors, one long table
Updated 4 November 2026
A Komodo boat trip for 20 friends on Vhale costs IDR 7,400,000 (≈ USD 454) a head on the 3D2N route, or IDR 5,290,000 (≈ USD 325) at twenty-eight, because one fare of IDR 148,000,000 (≈ USD 9,080) covers the whole boat. Twelve cabins in five kinds, two dining rooms, and a day bed nobody has to share.
Twenty friends and one long table
Picture the long table after Pink Beach, with twenty-odd people along it, a cousin explaining for the third time why the shortcut was his idea, and the coffee coming round again without being asked. A boat with twelve cabins and a crew of 9 is built for that table, and the outdoor dining room seats it at a long teak table and a U-shaped bench under the deck roof.
A party of this size is a pleasure to cater for and a puzzle to arrange. The fare is one sum for the whole boat, so the group decides the date, and the arithmetic is the same whether the friends number twenty or twenty-eight. The rest of this page works out the cabins, the three days and the sum; who gets the day bed it leaves to you.
Assigning cabins to twenty friends without a quarrel
Twelve doors in five kinds is a good number for a quarrel, so settle it early. The two Atlantic cabins have the balconies and take two to four, and the two Azure cabins beside them take two or three. Oceanic takes two or three and Pacific two, on the main deck, and the four Coral cabins below are bunk rooms, each with one double and one single bed, for three.
Standard beds add up to 28 guests: eight queen cabins of two and four Coral cabins of three. A third guest can join a cabin in Atlantic, Azure and Oceanic by extra bed, on request and confirmed in writing, and Atlantic takes a fourth. Coral takes three and Pacific only two, so nobody sleeps four in Pacific. Balconies to the elders, bunks to the cousins, the rest by lot. For Azure and Coral, ask us which bathroom arrangement each cabin has.
A reunion measured in three days
The route suits a reunion because each day keeps its own mood. Day one is for arriving: lunch on board, then Kelor, a ranger-led walk at Rinca and the bats leaving Kalong at dusk. Day two is the big one, with Padar at sunrise, Pink Beach, and the two snorkels at Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Day three is a last swim off Siaba or Sebayur and the quay around 12:00.
Padar will divide the party into those who climb and those who guard the coffee, and both halves meet again at breakfast. The 3D2N page has the hours, and the final order is set at sea by the captain, with the weather. A reunion needs three days to lose its shyness.

Day bed, speaker and karaoke: the evening kit
The evening kit is short and well chosen: the outdoor chill area has a day bed and a U-shaped bench, the sundeck sits above, and a speaker with a karaoke set waits for whoever wants it. The two paddle boards belong to whoever reaches them first, and the snorkel gear is supplied for everyone.
What is poured at the table we leave unclaimed. Alcoholic drinks are not in the fare, so ask us before you pack whether your own is welcome. Water, tea, coffee, milk and juice flow without a counter. The evening needs nothing but people.
Splitting the fare without the spreadsheet
Splitting the fare is the part groups dread, so take the short way through it. At twenty guests the 3D2N fare of IDR 148,000,000 (≈ USD 9,080) divides to IDR 7,400,000 (≈ USD 454) each, and at twenty-eight to IDR 5,290,000 (≈ USD 325). The ledger's right-hand column stays out of the sum, as on every page of this site: the park package, flights, hotels, alcoholic drinks, tips, and a guide or photographer unless you ask us to quote one.
Choose one organiser, who sends us the date, the size of the party and the route. We send back a single invoice and a cabin plan; 50 percent then secures the date, and the balance is wanted 30 days before the gangway. The organiser then collects the shares in whatever way the friends prefer, and the steps below show the order. For twenty guests or more, write early.

FAQ
Will twenty of us fill the boat, or will it feel crowded?
Twenty guests fill most of the cabins, and the boat holds up to 28 on standard beds, so there is room at the table and on the deck. The dining rooms, the sundeck and the chill area are shared spaces and are not divided by cabin.
Can three friends share one cabin, and is there an extra bed?
Yes: Atlantic, Azure and Oceanic can be made up for three with an extra bed, on request and in writing before anyone pays. Coral takes three on its bunks. Pacific takes two. Atlantic takes a fourth.
How many people can sleep on the boat in all?
Standard beds give 28 guests: eight queen cabins of two and four Coral cabins of three. Extra beds in Atlantic, Azure and Oceanic are by request and confirmed in writing. We do not promise more than 28.
How early should a group of twenty book?
Early. We publish no fixed lead time, because it depends on the calendar. Write several months ahead if you can, and we hold the date in three messages. The deposit of 50 percent confirms it.
