Five kinds of cabin, twelve doors, and a price for every berth

Updated 4 November 2026

A Komodo boat cabin, all inclusive and priced per person, costs between IDR 4,450,000 (≈ USD 273) and IDR 8,950,000 (≈ USD 549) on Vhale's 3D2N open trip, from a Coral sharing berth to an Atlantic cabin with a balcony. Twelve cabins, five kinds; the park package, flights, hotels, alcoholic drinks and tips sit outside every seat.

Atlantic, Azure, Oceanic, Pacific and Coral: five kinds along three decks

The cabins on Vhale come in five kinds, and the names are worth learning, because the prices follow them down the decks. Start at the top, with the two Atlantic cabins: a queen bed, a private bathroom, a balcony of its own and an extra bed if you ask, for two to four guests. Azure has two more beside them, with a queen bed and the option of an extra one, for two or three.

Oceanic and Pacific share the main deck. Oceanic holds a queen bed, an extra bed on request and a private bathroom for two or three; Pacific holds a queen bed and a private bathroom for two. Coral, on the lower deck, has four bunk rooms, each with one double and one single bed, for three. Eight queen cabins of two and four Coral cabins of three give 28 guests on standard beds.

The balcony cabins, and what a third guest changes

Only two cabins on the boat have a balcony, and both are Atlantic. A grandmother who wants her coffee in the open air as the harbour wakes, or a couple who want a door onto the water, should ask for these first, because they go first.

A third guest changes the arithmetic, not the manners. Atlantic takes up to four, Azure and Oceanic take three, Coral takes three, and Pacific takes two and no more, so nobody sleeps four in Pacific. The extra bed in Atlantic, Azure and Oceanic is by request and confirmed in writing, and we do not publish a price for it. Two people can take a cabin that sleeps four, paying for their own seats; tell us if the spare bed should be made up.

Seat by seat, from a Coral berth to an Atlantic balcony

A seat buys one person a berth for three days and two nights, boarding on a Monday or a Friday. The table below lists the six seat types in the order of the price list: Atlantic, Oceanic, Pacific, Coral Private, Azure and Coral Sharing, with the price of each per person.

The Coral pair needs a word of its own. Coral Private is a Coral cabin held for your own party, and Coral Sharing is one berth in a Coral cabin shared with other guests, with the pairing put in writing before any payment. The seat price carries the transfers, the meals, the snacks, the drinks on the tap, the snorkel gear, and, on this trip, the guide and the group's photographs and film. It does not carry the park package. The lowest seat starts at IDR 4,450,000 (≈ USD 273); the dearest is IDR 8,950,000 (≈ USD 549).

Coral: a bunk room with a double below and a single above

A Coral room is a bunk room, and the kindest place to say so is the first line. Each has one double bed and one single bed, for three people. For three friends, a parent with two children, or cousins who have been waiting a year for the top bunk, it is exactly right, and the lower deck is the part of the boat where the sleeping is done.

For a couple wanting privacy it is the wrong room, however good-humoured they are. They should look at Pacific, which has a queen bed for two and its own bathroom, or at Atlantic if the balcony matters. Coral carries the lowest seat price on the boat, and that is a reason to choose it, not an apology. The sleeping arrangement for a Coral Sharing berth is confirmed in writing.

Bathroom, air-conditioning and the window

Every cabin is air-conditioned. Atlantic, Oceanic and Pacific cabins have their own bathrooms. For Azure and Coral, ask us which bathroom arrangement your cabin has: the bathroom details per cabin, the window and the night-time cooling are confirmed in writing before you pay. If heat or a bathroom matters to your party, say so when booking and we pass it on.

The table sets the six seat types side by side. A cell that says ask us is a cell we answer in writing, never one we guess.

What no cabin fare quietly carries

A seat price likes to announce what it carries and murmur the rest, so here the rest is spoken first. Outside the seat: the park package for your trip type, flights into and out of Labuan Bajo, hotels either side, alcoholic drinks, and tips for the crew and the guide; a card link adds 3 percent on top.

Inside it: the car from hotel or airport and back, every meal and snack, the water, tea, coffee, milk and juice, the snorkel gear, and, on this trip, the guide and the pictures. There is no third column for the vague cases, the things that are half included depending on who you ask. The table below sets the two side by side.

One promise sits beside the ledger. If Vhale cannot sail on your dates, we put a boat of her class or better under your cabin on the same dates at no charge, or return every rupiah within 2 days. You choose between the two, and we write the choice down.

FAQ

What is the difference between a private, a sharing and a shared bathroom cabin?

There are five kinds of cabin. Coral Private is a Coral cabin held for your party; Coral Sharing is one berth in a Coral cabin shared with other guests. Atlantic, Oceanic and Pacific cabins have their own bathrooms. For Azure and Coral, ask us which arrangement your cabin has.

Can three of us share one cabin, and is there an extra bed?

Atlantic takes up to four guests, Azure and Oceanic take three, and Coral takes three on its bunks. Pacific takes two. The extra bed in Atlantic, Azure and Oceanic is by request and put in writing before any payment; we do not publish its price.

Can two people book a family cabin, and can four share?

Yes to both, within limits. Two people can book Atlantic, which sleeps up to four, and pay for their own seats. Four can share only in Atlantic. Coral takes three and Pacific takes two, so a party of four elsewhere needs two cabins. Ask us before booking.

Is the air conditioning on all night, and is there a window?

Every room is air-conditioned. Tell us what matters to you, whether the window or the bathroom, and the written answer reaches you ahead of any payment.
