What happens to the message you send us
Updated 4 November 2026
This privacy notice covers messages about Vhale sent to PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia by WhatsApp or e-mail. The reservation team reads them, uses them to plan your voyage, keeps them only as long as that work needs, and corrects or removes them when you ask.
What a WhatsApp message to us contains
A message to us starts as a few plain facts and grows as the plan does. At first it holds a first name, a phone number or e-mail address, the size of the party, the dates in question and the route being weighed, which is all we need in order to reply. Further in, since a boat journey inside a national park needs more paperwork than a hotel night, we ask for the full names of the guests, the hotel where the pickup will happen, your flight times, and passport details for the park tickets, which are issued in each visitor's name.
Some people also tell us about a bad knee, a nut allergy or a child who gets seasick. We treat that as part of the booking and pass on only what the crew needs in order to act on it, and we do not ask for medical records. Payment card numbers never travel in a chat: the card link and the card machine in Labuan Bajo handle those.
The planning form on this site sends nothing by itself. It writes the text of a message and opens WhatsApp on your phone, and nothing leaves until you press send.
Which of us opens your message, and its time on file
The reservation team of PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, which arranges the voyage and takes payment, opens your message, and nobody else does in the ordinary course of things. Two outside hands do see parts of it. The boat's owner receives the guest names and dates it needs to prepare the voyage, and the driver of your pickup receives a name, a place and a time. We do not sell contact details, and we do not hand your number to advertisers.
How long a conversation stays on file depends on what it became. A question that never turned into a booking is cleared from our active inbox once the season's enquiries are sorted. A booking stays for as long as the trip, the payment records and the rules on company accounts require. In Indonesia those rules set the floor. We state no fixed number of months here, because a number we cannot show a rule for would be a decoration. If you want the period for your own case, ask and we will write it back to you.
Held for the booking, not for marketing.
Having your message corrected or removed
You can ask us to correct a name spelled wrongly, a date that moved, or a passport number typed with a slip. Send the correction into the thread where the detail first appeared, and our reply will confirm that the file now says what you meant. That matters more than it sounds, since a misspelled name on a park ticket is a problem at the gate and not a problem on paper.
You can also ask us to delete your message history. We will remove what the law does not oblige us to keep, tell you which part remains and why, and stop writing to you unless you write first. A booking that is still ahead of you is the one case where deletion has to wait, because without your names and dates the boat cannot sail with you on it.
Write to us on WhatsApp or by e-mail, whichever you used before; the contact page has both, with our hours. Indonesian law governs this notice, and the company named on the contact page is the party responsible for it.
